Over the last week, we compiled a list of all the Art Assets and Programming Work that still needs to be done. We went through every screen, finalized some still ambiguous, minor design decisions, and created a comprehensive collection of everything we have left.
This involved solidly defining the screens we had put on the backburner, the Main Menu, the Credits Screen, the Settings Menu, etc.
Some other screens got a bit of a revamp while trying to add a bit more polish.
Early scene of the new chassis selection screen.
Each chassis is front and center when they are being hovered over with the other options showing clearly in the background. We plan to also add a small description of each bot while hovering, as well as a more in-depth description when the player tries to select that chassis.
The lights shown in the left camera on the 5Q33K chassis will show for each chassis currently being hovered by one of the players.

The part selection screen also got a bit of love. Instead of the previous vertical lists with multiple columns, this design opts to crowd less of the screen space by being a horizontal list at the top. When a prompts for more info about the part they are hovering over, they will receive a popup with some info about the part as well as a small video previewing its functionality.

Once the bot has been built, we previously went to a screen that simply had a host and join button and no ability to return to edit your bot or even quit the game.
Now we've included sub menus that allow you to access more options on whether to host (private), join (private), or queue (public) into a game. As well as including a way to go back and edit your bot or return to the main menu.
There will also be a way to preview your bot in the host/join scene while you are deciding which mode to play on the right, which can be activated by pressing the start button.
Every other screen and menu got this same kind of treatment and with our new comprehensive list of tasks, we now know precisely what we have left to do before the game is available at the Stout Game Expo on May 3rd.
